are you wondering how products are made? & by who?
Well, you've come to the right page. Let me tell you a little bit about the production of my Indigenous wearable art and give you a behind the scenes look at how I have thoughtfully chosen to operate my business.
Production
Designs by Jennifer Denny operates with a "slow fashion" approach. 100% of the items are made from fabric/raw material to finished product. Each piece sold on this website has been made by one person, Jennifer Denny. <3
Fashion Terms
"Bespoke" - Custom Made garments, made to fit an individuals size, with their creative input involved in the designing process. This garment will be made based off of the client's specific requests.

"Made-to-order" - Replicas can or cannot be made, usually this type of garment production has little to no creative changes. The only change would normally be the size.

"Ready-to-wear" - Replicas are made of this product and it is created from the same pattern being re-used.
An Inside look...
Q: What happens after my order is placed?
A: Depending on the type of art, sometimes your item is made within 3 business days and other times a Bespoke order can take up 12 months to complete. Time lengths of completion depend on the amount of orders & workshops that are booked ahead of your order. As an Independent Indigenous Artist, I do not take on every single order that is placed. If it does not coincide with my schedule, ethics, design style & goals for my professional direction; I will respectfully decline requests for custom commissions and bookings.
Work Days
Designs by Jennifer Denny operates Monday-Friday / 9AM-4PM.

"Days Off" - Although this is an online gallery, there is only one person behind the entire operation. The Artist, has sick days and vacation days just like any other place of employment. Anytime the Artist will be away from online-gallery operations there will be a black banner at the top of the website that will outline days away/length of time & when orders will be processed next.​
Social Media
"Social Media" - Jennifer Denny's personal social media is only used for posting collection launches & to provide online-store updates. All DM's sent through FB pertaining to orders will not be answered. Please contact Jennifer through the email provided when you received your virtual receipt or from our contact forum on the Email List.
Seasons/Collections
Starting in 2027, Designs by Jennifer Denny will launch a "Ready-to-wear" fashion collection & a "Beaded jewellery" collection two times a year; in the Spring and in the Fall.

"Siwk" - This is the Mi'kmaw word for the "Spring" season.​
"Toqa'q" - This is the Mi'kmaw word for the "Fall" season.
Regalia Orders
"Public Call-out" - The LAST public advertising for Regalia Client Applicants was in October of 2025.​

"Half-way Mark Update" - At the halfway mark, you will receive an email providing you with an estimated completion date. Please note that the date may be 14-28 days post the date provided (due to life obligations/emergency/sickness/etc.)

"Incomplete Orders" - If you are waiting for an order and it remains incomplete past the provided due date by the Artist you may receive a full refund of your order deposit and your order will be canceled. If you would like to cancel your order and arrange for a refund please call: 1-902-410-2079 between office hours (Monday-Friday / 9AM-4PM).

"Completion/Final Payment" - Upon completion of your order, you will receive an email notifying you of your Final Payment Total and to confirm your Pick-up/Shipping arrangements. All orders for Winter 2025-2026 are scheduled to be completed by July 31st, 2026.

"Limited Clients" - I have many obligations outside of my Artistry and for this reason I am only able to offer a limited amount of custom orders per year. From April 31st, 2026 onward, I will no longer be accepting Custom Regalia Orders. I will only be creating custom orders for approved JD Clientele between 2026-2030.
